CLIENT: PARSONS THE NEW SCHOOL FOR DESIGN

PROJECT BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Develop a non-alphabetic set of at least 26 formally-related objects and use these objects to design an A2 format specimen sheet showing the set in use.

PROCESS: I rummaged through my drawers and kitchen, gathering a few objects that were formally similar (scissors, pliers, compass etc). Consequently, I realized that the formal compositions of tools that were of a pair/double orientation had a subtle yet nuanced feel. When such objects were seen as a collective, they resembled a coherent set of typography.

EXECUTION: First, I scanned all the objects I found and silhouetted them. Then, I converted them into vector art and silkscreened the shapes onto a sheet of white acrylic.

SIZE: 16.5"W X 23.4"H
